Ammonia – Chemical that is found in most hair dye products. It lifts the cuticle of the hair up to allow the color enter the hair. It can leave hair dull, limp, frizzy, and can cause irritation to skin, eyes, throat, lungs, and itchy scalp

Peroxide – Chemical that changes hair color to a lighter color and allows another pigment to be absorbed into the hair. It destroys the natural pigment of the hair and dries the hair

Ammonium Thioglycolate – A reducing agent that weakens disulfide bonds. Used when perming hair.

Hydrogen Peroxide – A neutralizer that reverses the effect of reducing agents when perming hair
